Griebling Concert to Feature Music from Two New CDs

CONWAY, Ark. (October 2, 2017) – Professor of Music Dr. Karen Griebling will give a faculty recital followed by a CD release party on Monday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Reves Recital Hall, Trieschmann Fine Arts Building, on the Hendrix College campus.

This concert will consist of music from Griebling’s two newest CDs, “Richard III: A Crown of Roses, A Crown of Thorns” and “Fractal Heart,” released by Centaur Records, one of oldest and largest independent classical labels in the U.S. Griebling will be joined by two sopranos, alumna Stephanie Smittle ’03 and Adjunct Instructor of Voice Kara Claybrook, and two colleagues from the University of Central Arkansas, Dr. Stefanie Dickinson on piano and Larry Jones on trumpet. 

A reception in Trieschmann Gallery will follow the performance.

Griebling has taught music at Hendrix since the fall of 1987. She is professor of composition, theory, counterpoint, orchestration, and viola, as well as the conductor of the Hendrix Chamber Orchestra. She is also a violist with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and with the Cross Town Trio.
