Conway native to drive fundraising initiatives for Hendrix Warriors

CONWAY, Ark. (August 16, 2024) — Hendrix College is pleased to announce the appointment of Tyler Gum, a Conway native, as the inaugural Director of Development for Athletics. Gum will officially begin his role on Monday, August 19.

Gum brings a strong background in athletic fundraising and operations, having earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Sports Management from the University of Central Arkansas. Most recently, he served at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he established a notable track record in enhancing athletic revenue and operations over the past four years.

“Tyler’s expertise and proven abilities will be crucial in advancing our fundraising goals for Hendrix Athletics,” said Hendrix Vice President for Advancement Dr. Meredith Brunen. “We are confident that his efforts will significantly contribute to engaging external audiences and reconnecting former student-athletes and parents with Hendrix, as well as strengthening relationships with alumni and friends.”

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Tyler into the Hendrix Warriors,” added Hendrix Director of Athletics Amy Weaver. “I am also grateful to Dr. Petersen and Dr. Brunen for their support in creating this position, which will be instrumental in helping deliver the transformative and enriching experience that we envision for our student-athletes.”

The Hendrix College Warriors compete in NCAA Division III sports and are currently members of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA). Beginning in the fall of 2025, they will return to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), a league they were part of from 1999 to 2012.
