Celebrate with performances,
sports, and community fun
CONWAY, Ark. (August 12, 2024) — Hendrix College is thrilled
to announce an exciting evolution of its annual Fall Family Weekend,
transforming it into a grand Homecoming/Fall Family Weekend celebration.
Scheduled from Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29, this year’s
event will warmly welcome not only families of current students but also alumni
and friends of the College.
“We’re
delighted to expand Family Weekend to include a revived homecoming celebration
and embrace our entire Hendrix community—past, present, and future,” said
Hendrix President Karen Petersen. “The weekend is packed with a variety of
activities to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate.”
The comprehensive
schedule of events, available at www.hendrix.edu/familyweekend, features a
diverse range of activities designed to captivate a broad audience. Alumni are
encouraged to partake in all events of interest, regardless of their connection
to current Hendrix students.
“Hendrix has
not celebrated a traditional Homecoming in the fall for quite some time,” said Sue
Farris ’80, chair of the Hendrix Alumni Association Board of Governors. “With
multiple sports in full swing and an array of artistic performances and social
opportunities, it’s the perfect moment to invite everyone back to Hendrix.”
From dramatic performances
in Cabe Theatre to exciting athletic events, attendees will find something to
enjoy. Highlights include a special halftime ceremony during the Hendrix
Football game against Huntingdon College, which will recognize Hall of Honor
award recipients.
Many Family
Weekend/Homecoming events are free and open to the public. For details and to
