Hendrix
rated for education quality, affordability, and student outcomes
CONWAY, Ark. (August 18, 2023) — Hendrix
College is rated among the “Best Colleges in America 2023” according
to Money’s analysis of more than 700 four-year colleges, focusing on
quality of education, affordability, and student outcomes.
According to a news release from Money, college costs remain
one of the primary reasons students choose not to attend college or struggle to
graduate once they do. To help families make informed decisions about where to
spend their tuition dollars, Money redesigned this year’s
analysis to place colleges into ratings rather than in a numbered
ranking. The ratings help families with their college search by highlighting
the variety (and diversity) of high-value colleges in the U.S. and show that,
depending on students’ individual characteristics, priorities and goals, there
may be multiple top colleges to consider.
“We are always pleased to see Hendrix recognized among
America’s leading colleges for academic quality and value,” said Ryan Cassell, vice
president for enrollment and dean of admission. “This recognition is especially
meaningful, as it affirms our commitment to affordability.
“Hendrix is committed to addressing rising college costs through
strong scholarship and financial aid programs,” added Cassell.
Earlier this summer, Hendrix College was one of 300 four-year
colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom
featured in the Fiske
Guide to Colleges 2024.
The guide spotlights several aspects of the College’s academic
program that stand out, including the Odyssey Program and The Engaged Citizen
and Explorations classes for first-year students. The small faculty-to-student
ratio at Hendrix is one of the main highlights. According to the guide, “Personal
attention from faculty is the norm. They are also able to ignite a sense of
curiosity and excitement for learning.” Other campus highlights include the
Miller Creative Quad and the award-winning Dining Services, according to the
guide.
