Lorraine Duso

Duso

Lorraine Duso has been on the applied faculty at Hendrix since 2004, teaching oboe and coaching chamber music. She is currently a member of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (Little Rock, AR), North Arkansas Symphony (Fayetteville, AR) and Conway Symphony Orchestra (Conway, AR) and has also performed with the Knoxville Symphony (TN), the Orquesta Sinfonica de Estado de Mexico and Orquesta Sinfonia de Jalapa in Mexico. She received her Bachelor of Music degree at Indiana University, her Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music and her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan. Dr. Duso is also on faculty at the University of Central Arkansas teaching Oboe and Bassoon. As a soloist, Dr. Duso has performed outside the State of Arkansas by performing twice at the 2003 International Double Reed Society Conference in Greensboro, NC and in 2005, she performed at the IDRS Conference but this time at the University of Texas in Austin. The past seven summers, Duso has traveled to Sidney, Maine, to teach oboe at the New England Music Camp, an eight-week summer program for junior and high school students.
