gears up for fall semester as classes start August 22
CONWAY, Ark. (August 14, 2023) — Hendrix College welcomes 18 faculty
members, including nine new assistant professors and nine adjunct faculty, for
the 2022-2023 academic year.

received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Colorado State University.

a University of Arkansas alumnus, is completing his
Ph.D. in sociology from The Ohio State University.
Zachary
Brandner received his Ph.D. in Spanish from Texas Tech University,
where he also completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Sarah
Irons, an alumna of Centenary College,
received her Ph.D. and master’s degree in cognitive and affect neuroscience
from Rice University.
Colleen
Mayo,
a 2011 Hendrix College graduate, is a Ph.D. candidate in creative
writing-fiction at the University of North Texas. She received her MFA in
creative writing-fiction from Florida State University.
Allie
Ray,
an alumna of Oklahoma Baptist University, received
her Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Matthew
Reid,
a 2009 Hendrix College graduate, received his Ph.D. in biology from the
University of Louisville. He received his master’s degree in biology from the
University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Candice
Thomas, an alumna of Pennsylvania State
University, received her Ph.D. in nutritional sciences from the University of
Kentucky.
Phan Truong, a Kenyon College alumnus, received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University
of Georgia.
