    The Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee

    The Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee saves you time and money. Follow a few simple steps, and you'll get your degree in four years. 

  • What is it?

    Choose a major and stick to that major, be a full-time student with a full course load, and maintain the standards of academic progress at Hendrix. Meet these criteria and you will graduate from Hendrix in four years. If you don't, the remaining Hendrix College courses you need to graduate are yours. Tuition-free.

    With the Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee, Hendrix will make sure courses are available for you to complete the Collegiate Center, Odyssey Program, and major requirements for a baccalaureate degree by the end of your eighth consecutive semester at Hendrix. If you meet the Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee conditions and still do not graduate in eight semesters, Hendrix will credit you the tuition for any remaining Hendrix courses you need to complete your degree.* 

    *The Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee is not available for transfer students. Joint degree programs with other institutions & programs that require coursework beyond the major are excluded from the Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee. 

  • How Does it Work?

    What you do:

    • Declare a major by the College deadline before registering for your junior year classes and stick with that major.
    • Check with your academic advisor(s) every semester to receive guidance to help you select courses to meet all College and major requirements.
    • Adjust your preferred schedule to take courses you need when they are offered.
    • Successfully complete the courses necessary each academic year to meet the minimum graduation requirements.
    • Maintain the required cumulative and major grade point averages and earn sufficient grades to enroll in the next level of required courses so you do not lose time by repeating courses.
    • Regularly consult your unofficial transcript and your current degree audit on Campus Web to make sure you are on track to complete your degree and graduate in four years.

    What we do:

    • As part of your Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee, Hendrix College will provide academic advising with a designated advisor to make sure you are well informed about the College and degree requirements you need to complete your degree in four years.

    Don’t most Hendrix students graduate in four years?

    Yes. Hendrix has a four-year graduation rate of 70 percent, the highest in Arkansas, compared to 37 percent, the national average for public four-year institutions, and 33 percent at public four-year institutions in Arkansas. The Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee is just a little extra peace of mind for prospective students and families.

    What are the graduation requirements for a baccalaureate degree?

    Can I still graduate in four years if I change my major?

    Yes. As long as you complete the graduation requirements (e.g., Collegiate Center, Odyssey Program, and major requirements) for a baccalaureate degree by the end of your eighth consecutive semester, you’ll graduate in four years.

    Does the Four-Year Guarantee cover double majors and minors?

    No. But while the Four-Year Guarantee only applies to a single major, many Hendrix students complete double majors and minors in four years. Just check with your advisor(s) to make sure that you are completing all of the graduation requirements and double major or minor requirements.

    Can I still graduate in four years if I study abroad for a year or for a semester?

    Yes. Many Hendrix students study abroad and complete their degree in four years. Just check with your advisor and with the Office of International Programs to make sure the study abroad program that you are considering will allow you to graduate in four years.

    Who is eligible for the Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee?

    First-time freshman students enrolling at Hendrix.

    When do I have to declare a major if I sign up for the Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee?

    By the end of your fourth semester.

    What if I meet all the requirements for the Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee and I still don’t graduate in four years?

    We will credit you the tuition for any remaining Hendrix courses you need to complete your degree.

    I’m a transfer student. Can I sign up for the Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee?

    No. The Four-Year Guarantee is not available for transfer students.

    Are any programs excluded from the Hendrix Four-Year Guarantee?

    Yes. Joint degree programs with other institutions that require coursework beyond the major are excluded.
