    Fall Open House 2018

    Fall is a perfect time to visit our scenic campus in the heart of Arkansas. A visit to campus is one of the best ways to get to know our community.

  • What Happens on Fall Open House?

    At our open houses, you will be introduced to distinctive aspects of Hendrix College!

    • Learn about our engaging Odyssey Program that helps our students follow their passions
    • Attend a class and discover some of the reasons we’re recognized among “Colleges That Change Lives”
    • Walk around our gorgeous redbrick campus with current students
    • Eat in our award-winning cafeteria and meet our dining services staff (the heart of the HDX community!)
    • Academics & Outcomes — Explore the ins and outs of a Hendrix liberal arts curriculum
    • Hear about Hendrix's admission process and take your first steps to joining our community 
    • Wrap up the day with an opportunity to meet with an Admission Counselor

    Time Event
    8:00 a.m. Arrive on campus — Check in, select a class, and visit with current students along with members of the admission community over coffee and juice.
    8:30 a.m. Welcome to Hendrix! — Officially getting started with an overview of the day's schedule.
    9:10 a.m. Students: Attend a class 
    Parents: Academics & Outcomes — Explore the ins and outs of a Hendrix liberal arts curriculum.
    10:10 a.m. Campus Walks — See the campus on excursions led by current Hendrix students. (Students and parents will be split into separate groups for walks)
    11:30 a.m. Lunch
    12:15 p.m. Your Hendrix Odyssey: Engaging in Active Learning Learn more about this unique program at Hendrix College from Dr. Anne Goldberg, Associate Director of Odyssey and Professor of Anthropology, and current HDX students.
    1:00 p.m. Discussion of the Admission Process — What are the next steps? 
    1:40 p.m. Students: Meet with a faculty member in one of your areas of interest.*
    Parents: Take this moment for a break or join us to learn about financing a Hendrix education.
    2:00 p.m. Students: Finish up with an Admission Counselor, take optional walks, and/or attend additional meetings or auditions.*

    * Faculty conversations and auditions are reserved for high school seniors and must be requested prior to campus visit.
