Alumni Awards Ceremony

Nominations are always accepted.
We are now accepting nominations for the 2017 awards. The cut-off date is October 31, 2016. Nominations received after this date are held for
consideration the next year.
Nominations are solicited from Hendrix College alumni, faculty, administrators and friends and should include: the nominee’s current vitae, resume, or
biographical sketch including supporting documentation, if necessary, and a letter of support from the nominator.
Nominations should be submitted by October 31, 2016 for
consideration. Awards will be presented during the Alumni Association Awards Ceremony during Alumni Weekend.
- Nominations are kept on file for three years. If you submitted a
nomination before August 2014, a new nomination must be submitted for

- Jim Argue '73 - Distinguished Alumnus Award
- Barbara Jensen - James E. Major Service Award
- Dr. Chelsey Bryant Krug '01 - Outstanding Young Alumna Award
- Monica Beck Glover '98 and Dr. Jason Beck '95 - Hendrix Humanitarian Award

There are currently four awards given:
Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award
The Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award is given by the Alumni Association to living alumni who have distinguished themselves in their vocations, service to humanity and service to the College.
Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna Award
The Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna Award shall be presented to an alumnus or alumna of Hendrix College who has shown accomplishments and promise in his or her chosen profession or in service to the broader community and has demonstrated a continuing loyalty, support and advocacy for the college. The recipient should be within 15 years of his or her graduation from the college (for 2017 awards, the class of 2001 to 2016 will be considered).
James E. Major Service Award
The James E. Major Service Award was created in 1981 to honor Dr. James E. Major of Little Rock, a 1940 alumnus, senior vice president emeritus and minister in the Little Rock conference of the United Methodist Church. It is given for meritorious service to the College.
Hendrix Humanitarian Award
The Humanitarian Award is presented by the Hendrix College Alumni Association to living alumni who have significantly improved the quality of life in the world through their service and dedication to humanity.
