September 9, 2026—Hendrix College will kick off its Sesquicentennial celebration with a special acoustic performance by acclaimed singer-songwriter and alumnus Hayes Carll ’98. Carll will return to campus Friday, October 9, for the intimate concert during the College's Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Carll will perform a solo show for this standing-room-only concert at 8 p.m. in Worsham Performance Hall on the Hendrix campus. The concert is free for current Hendrix students, with tickets available for $35 for alumni, parents, families, and other guests.
A 1998 Hendrix graduate, Carll has spent more than two decades building a reputation as one of Americana music’s most distinctive and celebrated singer-songwriters. His work has earned recognition from the Americana Music Association and a Grammy nomination, while his songs have been recorded by artists including Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Womack, and Brothers Osborne.
The concert comes at a milestone moment for Hendrix as the College launches its 150th anniversary celebration. Founded in 1876, Hendrix will mark its Sesquicentennial throughout the 2026–2027 academic year, honoring the College's rich history while looking ahead to its next chapter.
Homecoming and Family Weekend, October 9–11, will bring alumni, families, students, faculty, staff, and friends together for three days of activities across campus. In addition to the Hayes Carll performance, weekend highlights include the grand reopening of Galloway Hall, Coffee and Conversation with Faculty, the tradition of family photos at the gazebo, a special 150th Music Convocation, tailgating lunch, and homecoming football against Centenary College.
