Life Launch @
Hendrix was founded in 2021 by Leigh Lassiter-Counts (Director of Career
Services), J.J. Whitney (Programs Coordinator of Career Services), and Tim
Purkiss (Director of Summer Programs) as part of a collaborative initiative
from then-President Ellis Arnold (2019-2023, President Emeritus) to establish a
residential summer program focused on preparing high school students for
college and career. The inaugural class consisted of 36 students, 23 rising
seniors and 13 rising juniors, from 9 different states.
Life Launch is
