Commitment

Students and parents interested in the Arkansas Governor’s School should be aware that selected students who accept an invitation to attend AGS are making a commitment to be at the school for the entire six weeks of the program.  Students and parents are asked to make this commitment because the program can only accept a limited number of students each session, therefore; if a student who is selected does not attend the full session, another qualified student who could have completed the program may not have the opportunity to do so.  We ask that all nominated students who apply to AGS to please be mindful of this opportunity and be prepared to commit to the program in its entirety.  If a student would like to participate in other programs or activities that run concurrent to AGS, we ask you to allow another student to be invited who can benefit from the entire program.

If you have any questions about committing to the entire session, please contact the AGS Office.  We are happy to discuss any concerns or questions you may have about the program.  If you have any questions about exceptions for temporary leaves from the program, please review the AGS Leave Policy.
