A Halloween-themed faculty recital featuring Hendrix College organist
Timothy Allen is set for Monday, October 28, at 8 p.m. in Greene Chapel. The
recital is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes, said Allen, who will perform in costume.
The program will
feature popular organ works listeners often associate with ghosts, ghouls, or
monsters, including the Toccata and Fugue in D minor by J.S. Bach, “Danse Macabre”
by Saint-Saens, “Ride of the Valkyries” by Wagner, “Funeral March of a
Marionette” by Gounod, and “In the Hall of the Mountain King” by Grieg. There
will be also be music from the 2014 movie Godzilla.
