Welcome! I am glad you stopped by to learn more about Hendrix College, a top-tier
national liberal arts college that emphasizes engaged learning. We believe that
you learn more when you do more. And, through our innovative Odyssey program, we
provide opportunities for all students to use what they've learned - in and out
of the classroom - to make a difference in the world.
We give life to our motto "Unto the Whole Person" by ensuring that Hendrix students
have opportunities to grow in mind, body, and spirit. These opportunities develop
through close contact with our world-class faculty, participation in NCAA Division
III athletics, intramurals, and a wide range of co-curricular activities, and through
our long-standing connection with the United Methodist Church, paired with our commitment
to welcoming individuals of all faiths and those seeking their own spiritual connections.
We are proud to call Arkansas home: the natural beauty, friendly people, and active
cultural life of the state make this a wonderful place to live and learn.
Since I became president of Hendrix on June 1, I've been busy immersing myself
in the life of the College, its people, and its traditions. I am chronicling my
discoveries about Hendrix and its history in my blog, "Bill's Hendrix Odyssey."
I've been thrilled to find that this is a campus where excellence is expected, where
differences are embraced, and where new arrivals are welcomed like old friends.
It's an exciting time to be at Hendrix College. We're focusing on the future
as I work with the Hendrix community to articulate a clear vision for the College
and share our story on the national stage. Please join me on my Hendrix Odyssey
by reading my blog, exploring the Hendrix website, and visiting our beautiful campus
