LGBTQ+

Hendrix College is an open and affirming space for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community.  We have several active student-run organizations that support and advocate for LGBTQ+ issues and concerns.

While Hendrix has plenty of room to grow, we are the most affirming and welcoming college/university in the state of Arkansas.  If you are curious as to how Hendrix supports and affirms LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff, please do not hesitate to contact us!

The Committee on Gender & Sexuality (COGS) is a sub-committee of the Student Senate.  COGS provides programming and support for issues surrounding gender and sexuality such as coming out, reproductive justice, healthy relationships, and sexual health.  COGS also oversees Unity, an LGBTQ+ student organization that has been at Hendrix College since the 1980's.  Unity sponsors various events and programs for members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies.  COGS also oversees Trans@HDX, which is the college's trans student group.  Trans@HDX meets regularly with all students that identify as trans, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and everyone in between.  They also host various events and programs for the entire student body.
