New Hendrix Faculty, Staff Announced

CONWAY, Ark. (August 15, 2018) – Hendrix College has announced new teaching faculty, faculty with new or changed status, and Academic Affairs staff with new or changed status for the 2018-2019 academic year.

New faculty in 2018-2019 include:

  • Josiah (J.D.) Gantz, Assistant Professor of Biology
  • Anthony Horne, Associate Professor of Theatre Arts
  • Bayazit Karaman, Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science
  • Adam Schneider, Assistant Professor of Biology
  • Kevin Schoelz, Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics
  • Caitlin Scott, Assistant Professor of Chemistry
  • Delphia Shanks-Booth, Assistant Professor of Politics
  • Martin Shedd, Murphy Visiting Fellow in Language and Literature, Classics
  • Andrew Vaught, Murphy Visiting Fellow in Language and Literature, Theatre Arts

Faculty with new or changed status for the 2018-2019 academic year include:

  • Todd Berryman, promoted to Professor of History
  • Andres Caro, awarded the Thomas E. Goodwin Odyssey Professorship
  • James Dow, appointed Director of the Marshall T. Steel Center for the Study of Religion and Philosophy
  • Mark Goadrich, awarded tenure
  • Anne Goldberg, awarded the Charles Prentiss Hough Odyssey Professorship
  • William Haden Chomphosy, awarded tenure-track position, completed Ph.D.
  • Maureen McClung, awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professor of Biology
  • Kristi McKim, promoted to Professor of English-Film & Media Studies
  • Jennifer Peszka, awarded the Charles Prentiss Hough Odyssey Professorship
  • Stanly Rauh, awarded tenure, promoted to Associate Professor of Classics
  • Lyle Rupert, awarded the C. Louis and Charlotte Cabe Distinguished Professorship

  • Leigh Lassiter-Counts, appointed Director of Career Services
  • Amanda Moore, appointed Assistant Director of Career Services
  • Holly Payne, appointed Costumer in Theatre Arts & Dance
  • Felipe Pruneda-Senties, appointed Director of the Writing Center
  • Geoffrey Robson, appointed Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra

Fall faculty conference began Monday, August 13. Classes will begin Tuesday, August 21.
