CONWAY, Ark. (January 29,
2018) – The Hendrix College Chamber Orchestra and Hendrix College Dance
Ensemble will present Waltz Night, Monday, February 12, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in
the Gallery of the Trieschmann Fine Arts Building. Admission is free and the
public is welcome to attend. Voluntary donations made at Waltz Night support
scholarships for the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Dance steps will be
demonstrated by student Ballroom Dance leader Eva Zhao, and the audience is
invited to dance to music performed by the orchestra. The Hendrix Dance Ensemble
leads the grand finale to the Blue Danube Waltz, with choreography by Assistant
Professor of Theatre Arts and Dance Brigitte Rogers.
Joining the Chamber
Orchestra for Waltz Night 2018 will be the Rockefeller String Quartet of the Arkansas
Symphony Orchestra; among its members is violinist Katherine Williamson, who
won the Musical Innovator award at the recent Central Arkansas Music Awards.
