Student Mock Trial Team Successful at Crimson Classic Tournament

Hendrix Mock Trial NewsCONWAY, Ark. (January 23, 2017) – The Hendrix College Mock Trial Red Team recently competed at the Crimson Classic invitational tournament in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 

The Red Team competed in four rounds, posting a winning record overall and winning individual ballots against the University of Alabama, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and Millsaps College.

Students ranked as top attorneys in these rounds included:

  • Blythe Bull ’19
  • Chirag Lala ’17
  • Katelyn Pitcher ’19
  • Sami Sexton ’17

Students ranked as top witnesses included:

  • Josie Efird ’19
  • Michael Hulsey ’19
  • Steven Hulsey ’17
  • Guneev Sharma ’17

Hulsey and Sharma also won overall Outstanding Witness awards at the tournament. 

"The team put a lot of work into preparation, and it showed at the tournament," Red Team Captain Sami Sexton said. "We had a chance to test out new case themes and strategies, and we're excited about where we stand as we continue to prepare for regionals." 

The Red Team will compete next month at the AMTA Regional Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri.
