CONWAY, Ark. (September 8, 2016) – The Hendrix College Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Dr.
Karen Griebling, will perform All Souls Musical Mediation on Diversity and
Inclusion on Monday, Oct. 31, at 7:30
p.m., in Greene Chapel.
Hendrix
College Chaplain Rev. J.J. Whitney will lead the meditation. The service will also
honor the memory of longtime Hendrix education professor Dr. James Jennings,
who passed away last fall.

About the guest performers
Arkansas Symphony Orchestra principal cellist David Gerstein
joined the Hendrix music faculty this fall. He also performs with the Quapaw
Quartet and with Trio Arkansas. He holds degrees from the Eastman School of
Music and Rice University and has served on the faculty at the University of
Arkansas at Fayetteville.
The vocalists are all members of Little Rock's opera company Opera
in the Rock. Ron and Jaimee McDaniel sang roles in Dr. Griebling’s opera Richard III in 2015 and in OITR's production of La boheme last May. Both have music
degrees from the University of Limerick in Ireland. Jaimee McDaniel is also the founder and director of Conway Early Music
Ensemble, Scola cantorum, and both perform with Cosmocean.
Gordon is on the board at Opera in the Rock and sang "My
Man's Gone Now" from Porgy and Bess
last fall at OITR's fund raiser at South on Main. She is a teacher at
Dunbar in Little Rock and was in the chorus for OITR's production of La boheme last May.
