Waltz Night 2016

CONWAY, Ark. (February 8, 2016) — Waltz Night 2016 will be presented by the Hendrix College Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Karen Griebling, Monday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Trieschmann Gallery.

The annual event is a fundraiser to benefit the Arkansas Youth Orchestra. Admission for the event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Hendrix music professor Dr. Karen Griebling at 501-450-1249 or griebling@hendrix.edu.

The Waltz Night 2016 features:

  • Arkansas Symphony Principal Violist, Katherine Reynolds in the Andante and Hungarian Rondo by Weber
  • Ballroom Dance leaders, Michael Occidental and Samantha Puckett
  • Mezzo Soprano Sarah Stankeiwicz in the Habanera from Carmen by Bizet
  • The world premiere of Variations on a Waltz by Sydney Hickok '17
  • Hendrix College Dance Ensemble, Brigitte Rogers choreographer, in Strauss's Blue Danube Waltz
