CONWAY, Ark. (February 14, 2014) – The annual Hendrix
College Chamber Orchestra Concerto and Aria Competition will be Sunday, March
2, at 7 p.m. in Reves Recital Hall.
The winner of the competition will be announced at the
annual Waltz Night concert on Monday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Worsham Student
Performance Hall in the Student Life and Technology Center. Waltz Night is an
annual fundraiser by the Hendrix Chamber Orchestra and Dance Ensemble to
benefit the Arkansas Youth Orchestra. The orchestra performs music while
dancers demonstrate and lead audience members in dancing waltzes, polkas,
tangos, and other ballroom favorites. The program is open to the public.
Admission is free, and voluntary donations to the Arkansas Youth Orchestra are
gratefully accepted. Refreshments are provided.
The competition winner will also appear as a soloist with
the Hendrix Chamber Orchestra at its spring concert on Monday, April 28, at
7:30 p.m. in Reves.
