CONWAY, Ark. (December 4, 2013) – Renowned biblical scholar
Dr. Walter Brueggemann will deliver the 2014 Hendrix College Steel Lecture on
Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 7 p.m. in Mills A.
Brueggemann is the author of more than 100 books including The Prophetic Imagination, Message of the Psalms,
and Truth Speaks to Power. He is
an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and professor emeritus of the Ohio
Theological University.

Brueggemann will be on campus as part of a semester-long
series at Hendrix focusing on the theme "On Living Christian Faith."

Prior
to the Steel Lecture, Hendrix will host the 29th Annual Steel-Hendrix
Awards banquet will be at 5:30 p.m. in Worsham Performance Hall in the Student
Life and Technology Center.

- Rev. Ed Matthews –
The Ethel K. Millar Award for Religion and Social Awareness
- Zach Schrick – The
Hendrix College Youth Director of the Year
