CONWAY, Ark. (September 3, 2013) – Calvin Cochran, a 2013 Hendrix graduate and mathematics
major, was awarded a cash prize for the presentation of his senior project "Shuffle
Posets and their Hasse Diagrams" at this year’s MathFest 2013 in Hartford, Conn.
The prize was awarded by the Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honorary Society for the
American Mathematical Society.
Associate Provost Dr. David Sutherland attended as Calvin's project advisor and
as the Pi Mu Epsilon National Past-President.
