CONWAY, Ark. (May 6, 2013) – Hendrix senior Josephine Reece, a philosophy major from St. Paul, Minn., recently received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in South Korea.
“These already competitive awards seem to get more competitive all the time. This news is thus all the more impressive,” said Hendrix English professor Dr. Dorian Stuber, who serves as co-coordinator of distinguished scholarships. “Josephine worked hard and will do a fabulous job. She is already a gifted teacher.
Established in 1946 under legislation introduced by then-Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas, the Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. It was designed to "increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries."
