CONWAY, Ark. (September 20, 2012) - The Hendrix Players will present L'Etranger Mysterieux (The Mysterious Stranger) Friday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. in Cabe Theatre.
The performance, sponsored by the Hendrix College Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, is open seating. For more information, call 501-450-1343 or visit www.hendrix.edu/theatrearts.
L'Etranger Mysterieux (The Mysterious Stranger) is written and directed by Hendrix theatre professor Ann Muse, a 1983 Hendrix graduate, and choreographed by Hendrix dance professor Brigitte Rogers.
The play is set in south Louisiana just after a hurricane. The characters are animals and birds from the Pas A Loutres Wildlife Refuge. A mysterious bird is blown onto the island from Puerto Rico, and the little community needs to decide how they are going to treat her. A sheriff and his deputy try to uncover all of the survivors and keep order. It is a funny story with a positive message about being nice to people who are not like you. The Hendrix Dance Ensemble provides the movement of the hurricane. Actors are the characters and will wear bright masks that indicate their animal or bird.
