Hendrix College invites applications for a visiting Staff Technical
Director in our Department of Theater for 2014-15. The Technical Director will provide technical support for
the department, supervise student crews and work study students for theatre and
dance performances. This position could staff a Production I course in scenery
and lighting and teach Intro to Theatre with the proper credentials.
Responsibilities and core duties:
- Provide technical support for the department
productions (tech and dress rehearsals and performances) and course needs
- Supervise the scene, lighting, sound, and
properties shops made up of volunteer and work study undergraduate students
- Work in concert with the department faculty and
guest directors and faculty designers to produce quality productions
- Work in a collaborative, positive fashion with
colleagues as is typically expected of a theatre artist.
Additional Requirements:
- Heavy Lifting (capable of at least 50 lbs)
- Evening/Weekend Hours
- Valid Driver’s License
- Long Periods of Walking/Standing
