French Program

FRENCH 120 - First-Year French, Part II

This course is designed for students with one semester's experience at the college level in the French language. It is a course in the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French, with an emphasis on oral expression and an introduction to French culture.

 

This course meets four days per week.

The required texts for the course are:
Jansma and Kassen. Motifs: An Introduction to French. 2010:  Cengage.
Jansma and Kassen. Student Resource Manual to accompany Motifs: An Introduction to French. 2010:  Cengage.

OBJECTIVES:
This is a four-skills course, designed to develop your abilities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing French. As in any newly-acquired skill, a foreign language must be practiced regularly if progress is to be made; thus, class attendance and participation are integral parts of the learning situation.
