Quick Facts

Hometown: Salem, OR

Degree: Economics and Business with a minor in Religious Studies from Hendrix College.

Hobbies: I spend a lot of time distance running for a hobby and spend any free time I have outside of that hiking, camping, or near water.

A word or phrase that describes me: Outdoor Enthusiast

Favorite Book and Movie: For books, my triple threat would have to beFahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, and The Shack by William P. Young. As for movies, there’s another three way tie between St. Vincent, Eddie the Eagle, and Forrest Gump

What is your favorite college memory?

In college, I got the once in a lifetime opportunity to play in a Final Four match for Hendrix's volleyball team in the NCAA Tournament. Some of my best memories were spent on the volleyball court and on the track. I got to travel across the country with groups of people who eventually became family. The beauty of Hendrix is these sorts of families form throughout the campus. There's a home for everyone at Hendrix. Mine just happened to be on the track, the volleyball court, and in the school's non-profit organization

What advice would you give to your incoming students?

Take chances on things that may seem out of the ordinary for you. Hendrix is not an ordinary school, and odds are you didn't get into Hendrix because you're an ordinary person. Enjoy the quirks and traditions Hendrix has to offer, and don't be afraid to step a little outside of your comfort zone.

What are you passionate about?

Food and all things coffee related, for sure. I have a soft spot for animals and the ocean. Environmental wellness and personal nutrition are high on my list too. I'll also try anything at least once, and I'm definitely a sucker for a good adventure.

Who are your four fantasy dinner guests?

Abraham Lincoln, Sherlock Holmes, John Muir, and Elon Musk.

Personal Quote

“Whatever you are, be a good one.” – Abraham Lincoln
