Quick Facts

Hometown: Norman, Oklahoma

Degree: Psychology and Spanish

Hobbies: Exploring, creating, podcast listening, reading, cooking

A word or phrase that describes me: Enthusiastic lifelong learner

Favorite Book and Movie: I nearly have the entire collected works of David Sedaris memorized! : Little Miss Sunshine never gets any less funny no matter how many times I watch it, but Moonlight comes in as my all-time favorite.

What is your favorite college memory?

It's impossible to choose, but family dinners with my study abroad hosts in Montevideo, Uruguay and crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama during Dean Wiltgen's annual Civil Rights trip definitely top the list.

What advice would you give to your incoming students?

Be open to new ideas, perspectives, and experiences. You may have your worldview challenged at Hendrix, but if you stay open to discussion and exploration, you'll find that you leave with a more complete picture of who you truly are and what you stand for.

What are you passionate about?

SO much! The life changing power of a liberal arts education, thinking and talking about race and identity, intersectional feminism, recycling, arts education, LGBT+ rights, and the active unlearning of prejudice. And, on the lighthearted side, I've never met a cat, spicy food, or 90's R&B hit that I didn't adore.

Who are your four fantasy dinner guests?

Heben Nigatu, Kate McKinnon, Ilana Wexler, and Detective Olivia Benson

Personal Quote

“We must not see any person as an abstraction. Instead, we must see in every person a universe with its own secrets, with its own treasures, with its own sources of anguish, and with some measure of triumph.” ― Elie Wiesel
