What is your favorite college memory?

I went to a little school in Wisconsin, a lot like Hendrix.  Because it was a small campus community, students developed really close relationships with faculty and staff.  At our graduation it is a tradition that the faculty line the sides of the aisle after the ceremony and usher the graduated seniors back out.  Again and again I was stopped by a professor who wanted to give me a hug and wish me well, or tell me how proud they were of me.  It was really powerful to see how much people cared about each of us, individually, and I crying pretty hard by the time I actually made it through the line.

What advice would you give to your incoming students?

Study hard, but make sure you also take time to get involved on campus in other ways.  Join a club, or an intramural team.  Get a campus job, and go to some of the big campus events.  These activities, and the people you meet through them, will be part of your best memories from college, and will help you after college just as much as your classes will.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about helping others, to achieve their goals and to find happiness.  I love theater and I want to share that love with others so they learn to enjoy theater as well.  I'm passionate about education on all levels.  A good, well-rounded education is the key to success and I want to make furthering education accessible to as many as possible.  I'm also a huge proponent of travel!  I think everyone should travel as much as they can, whether it's to the next big city or across the world.  You learn so much about the world we live in when you spend time with people who are different from you.

Who are your four fantasy dinner guests?

I am going to invite Sandra Bullock, Michelle Obama, Kate Middleton (and Princess Charlotte), and The Dalai Lama to my next fantasy dinner.  But there will be more dinners in the future.
