Marjorie Swann teaches courses about poetry and sixteenth- and seventeenth-century British literature. Her publications focus on Renaissance literature's relationship with social, cultural, and environmental history. In addition to many essays and articles, she has published the book
Curiosities and Texts: The Culture of Collecting in Early Modern England
(2001) and the new
Oxford University Press edition of Izaak Walton's famous fishing treatise,
The Compleat Angler
(2014). She is now writing a book about Walton's
Angler
and its post-seventeenth-century afterlives.
