Darren Peters

Darren Peters imageDarren Peters serves as Manager of System Government Affairs at Entergy Corporation where he is responsible for managing the company's corporate grassroots program and managing Entergy’s Political Action Committee for Federal and State activities.  He received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from Hendrix.

From 1993 -2000, Darren worked at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the White House and served as the Chief of Staff in the International Affairs Office of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Darren is very involved with volunteer community activities. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of City Year Little Rock, the Little Rock Parks Commission, Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, the Central High Museum and Visitor Center, The City in a Park Conservancy Board and the Pulaski County Single Parent Scholarship Fund Board.   He also serves as one of the founders of 100 Black Men of Greater Little Rock as well as the founder of Powerplay magazine, which he started to highlight the depth and diversity of the African-American community in Arkansas, and is the current Chairman of the Board for the Central Arkansas Transit Authority.

Darren has received numerous honors including: The Living Legacy award from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the Black Community Developers Community Service Award.  He is a graduate of  the National Urban Coalition’s H. Carl Holman Leadership Development Institute; The Wharton School/Entergy Executive Leadership Program and is an alumnus with the American Council of Young Political Leaders.

He was named to Arkansas Business Magazine’s 40 Under 40 and New York’s Network Journal Magazine’s Forty Business Leaders under 40. 

Darren is married to Vivian Peters and has two children, Brandon and Sydney.
