Biology and Psychology Major

Current Projects

I am working as a veterinary intern at a equine private practice referral center in Granbury, Texas.

Undergraduate Research

I did multiple years of research in the lab of Dr. Jennifer Dearolf, including studying the effects of corticosteroids on the development of respiratory muscles in fetal guinea pigs.

How Hendrix prepared me for success

I graduated with a strong background in the sciences, particularly in biology. As a veterinarian I deal with people everyday, including ones in situations of extreme stress, so my psychology degree helps me understand better how to work with my clients.

Future plans

After my internship year I may pursue an associate position at a private practice or a equine surgical residency. Veterinary medicine is rapidly becoming more specialized, similar to human medicine.

My advice

The hard work is worth it in the end when you get to do something you really love every day!
