Pre-Professional Programs and Specialized Advising

Teaching

Teachers significantly impact their students and school communities. At Hendrix, we focus on education's role in promoting equity by preparing students, through our social justice minor, for alternative teacher preparation opportunities, including residency programs, pursuing a master's degree, alternative licensure, and accelerated programs.

Look to the Future

Students interested in teaching careers should complete the social justice minor. Additionally, one of the six course credits for the minor must be an approved for-credit internship. This field-based internship placement matches students' vocational interests in social justice and must include work that enhances their understanding of equity issues experienced by marginalized populations.
