What's the best way to communicate with my colleagues?

Chats

In Teams, Chats are best for informal, individual, or small groups to contact for brief updates or quick decision-making.  A conversation that feels like a quick back-n-forth conversation in Chats might result in eight disjointed emails.  You might share a document in a Chat for some initial feedback or review, but the documents aren't in folders and are really links back to the original location of the document.

Posts

Posts within Teams work for established groups to support more complex projects and discussions, ongoing collaboration, and separate simultaneous chats on different topics. You can also bring an old conversation back to the attention of your group by adding a new reply. Files shared in Posts can be stored and organized in the Shared portion of the Team/Channel.  You can easily manage access simply by controlling membership of the Team or Private Channel.

emails

Emails work best for One-directional communications, like confirming final decisions, making broad announcements, or providing general information, while anything that is going to create any kind of ping-pong effect is best done in chats and posts.
