The Foundational Breadth program at Hendrix is designed to promote exploration in the liberal arts by acquainting students with a wide range of available areas of study. To satisfy this requirement, students earn one credit in each of the following categories.
Fine Arts (A)
Languages (L)
Humanities (H)
Social Sciences (S)
Natural Sciences (N)
Quantitative Studies (Q)
Students who earn at least two credits from each of these categories receive Achievement in the Liberal Arts, which is noted on their diplomas and transcripts.
In addition, students earn 0.5 credits in Well-Being (W). This can be fulfilled through activities such as varsity sports as well as Well-Being courses.
