Learning Objectives

  1. An introductory knowledge of subject matter within a broadarray of sub-disciplines within the field of religion.
  2. A capacity to understand different kinds of religiousphenomena-including texts, practices, experiences, historicalevents, communities and ideas-through a variety of interpretivelenses.
  3. Experience with ways of developing a sympathetic understandingof diverse religious traditions, engaging in thoughtful reflectionon religious questions and traditions, and participating inconstructive dialogue with others.
  4. An acquaintance with and an ability to employ theories of andmethods for studying religion.
