Intramural Handbook

Universal Intramural Rules:

All participants must be a current member of the WAC and have a member card to be presented at every event. All players on the team must be wearing the same color shirt. All teams must arrive 15 minutes prior to game time ready to play. Proper attire must be worn at all times. No jeans, no pants/shorts with cargo pockets and no exposed belt loops. No jewelry. Closed toed shoes must be worn at all times! Caps, visors, sock hats, and sunglasses may be worn for outdoor sports only.

Prior to game time:

Captains are responsible for making sure all participants sign-in. Please make sure that participants are gathered around officials at least 5 minutes before game time to go over rules. Paper/Rock/Scissors, a disc flip, etc. will replace coin toss prior to the start of each game.

Sportsmanship and Code of Conduct:

Warrior Points will be determined by the captain of each team, supervisor on duty, and each referee.

1 Warrior Point: unsportsmanlike in their actions including on and off the field. (examples include: getting into a physical fight with teammates, opponents, and/or officials)

2 Warrior Points: unsportsmanlike in their actions and attitude on and off the field. (examples include: unnecessary roughness, cursing at teammates, opponents, and officials out of anger, making it necessary for officials and supervisors to warn participants about actions and attitude, forfeiting without at least 1 days notice.)

3 Warrior Points: neutral in attitudes and actions. (examples include: small trash talking, excessive celebration by putting victory in opponents face, not shaking hands after game, arguing continuously about a call or rule without cursing, forfeiting on game day)

4 Warrior Points: displaying sportsmanship towards teammates, opponents, and officials. (examples include: only forfeiting once with at least 2 days notice throughout the duration of the sport, congratulating opponents, good natured attitudes and actions towards opponents.)

5 Warrior Points: displaying sportsmanship towards teammates, opponents, and officials beyond what is expected. (examples include: never forfeiting games, showing up 15 minutes before the start of each game, staying after to pick up equipment, and being friendly to opponents, teammates, and officials.)

Teams will be automatically removed from playoffs if their average sportsmanship rating is below 3 Warrior Points.
