When can my student pick-up invitations?
Invitations should be ready in the bookstore no later than March 30.
When is the last date my student may order his or her cap and gown?
30% of graduating seniors have not made arrangements for his or her regalia. Caps and gowns must be ordered by March 30. If your student does not intend to purchase a cap and gown, please have them stop by the bookstore and let DeeDee Allen remove your student from the unknown arrangements list.
When can my student pick up his or her cap and gown?
Caps and gowns will be ready in the bookstore the week before graduation.
What requirements must a student meet in order to participate in Commencement?
Students must have completed all degreements in order to receive a diploma. Students who are missing no more than two degree requirements may request permission from the Registrar to participate in Commencement, but the folder they are handed will not include a diploma.
When will I know that my student will walk in the ceremony?
Students failing to meet more than two degree requirements may not participate in Commencement. Students who cannot walk will be notified on Friday, May 8.
Students who have failed to satisfy two or fewer outstanding degree requirements may request permission from the Registrar to participate in Commencement.
Students also may not be allowed to walk due to misconduct or behavior not conforming to the standards of propriety congenial to the College’s heritage and aims, as well as to the laws of the state and nation.
Are personal recording devices okay?
If the ceremony takes place outside, members of the audience who wish to take personal photographs or make videos of a degree candidate as he or she receives a diploma may approach the south end of the stage at a time shortly before the name of the student is called. Faculty Marshals and security staff ask that all photographers from the audience limit themselves to one person per degree candidate and that they approach the area from the sidewalk leading to Ellis Hall. A professional photographer will take a photo of each graduate and at a later date make commemorative pictures available.
Who is the professional photographer and what is his contact information?
Tom Lieblong of Candid Color of Arkansas, Inc. is our professional photographer. All graduates will be photographed and he will send proofs with no obligation to purchase.
What should I do if we have a guest with us who has special needs?

Is there a special way to honor my graduate?
You may make a gift to the College in honor of your senior. Names of donors making gifts by May 5 will be listed with the honorees on an insert in the commencement program. All donors and honorees also will be listed in the College’s Annual Report. Use the enclosed gift form and envelope to mail in a gift with the name of your honoree, go online to www.hendrix.edu/giving, or call toll-free (877) 208-8777.
When does my student need to move out of student housing?
All graduating seniors must be out of student housing by 5 p.m., Saturday, May 9.

Where should I park?
Parking will be limited at the Wellness and Athletic Center, but there will be parking available all around campus.
Will there be shuttles available on campus?
There will be shuttle vans picking up guests in all of the parking lots around campus and transporting guests to the Wellness and Athletic Center.
What happens if it rains during commencement?
Commencement will be held in the Wellness and Athletic Center on the Hendrix College Campus. at 9 a.m.
Where is the reception if it rains?
The reception will be held in the Wellness and Athletic Center in the recreation gymnasium.
