Director of Student Activities
Tonya Hale
As the Director of Student Activities, Tonya oversees New Student Orientation, leadership development, student organizations, Social Committee (SoCo), and plans various activities and events for the student body. In her spare time, Tonya enjoys having awkward and silly conversations with Kent and Kate, finding any excuse to say “that’s what she said,” and listening to cheesy '80s music (because she’s old). This year will be Tonya’s fifth year working with Orientation at Hendrix and she is looking forward being a part of your Hendrix journey!

Kent Denton
Kent is a junior philosophy major and music minor who hails from Mississippi and enjoys the hot weather. He really loves interacting with people, and, to be completely honest, he never shuts up...ever! When he grows up, he definitely wants to be a country music star. He's busy, and loves to be busy. Most importantly, he's PUMPED ABOUT ORIENTATION '09! He can't wait to be among all the new people and new faces. He just hopes everyone is prepared for the best Orientation ever!
P.S.: He loves his co-coordinator Kate Cook. She's the best.
Kate Cook
From a tender age, Kate Cook was sure her destiny was to be either a replacement for Roger Ebert, or a 1960s flight attendant. Since time-travel is only theoretical at this point, she's aiming for the former. A junior English major from Hope, Ark., she's a fan of the color green, sunflowers, awkward jokes, canceled TV shows, veggie corn dogs and tweenage literature. Orientation 2009 will probably be the most exciting thing to happen to her thus far--and, she's met Tom Selleck!
P.S.: She concedes that her co-coordinator, Kent Denton, is also the best ever. They can share.
