Live Streaming Available for Friday and Saturday Candlelight Carol Services

CONWAY, Ark. (October 4, 2012) – The Hendrix College Choir, under the direction of Dr. Nancy Fleming, will present the 48th annual Candlelight Carol Service on Thursday, Nov. 29 – Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. in Greene Chapel.

The services are free and open to the public but reservations are required. Reservations are available by calling 501-450-1495 beginning Monday, Nov. 19 – Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 26 – Friday, Nov. 30 from 12 – 2 p.m.

Live streaming of the Friday and Saturday campus services will be available at www.hendrix.edu/candlelightcarol/live.

  • Now you are ready to begin watching Candlelight Carol.

This year’s program includes Welcome Yule! (Parry), Adam Lay Ybounden (Warlock), Sicut locutus est from Magnificat (J.S. Bach), Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen (Cashmore/Praetorius), Nova! Nova! (Chilcott), Dormi, Jesu! (Sirett), Videntes stellam (Poulenc), Verbum caro factum est (Hassler), Love Came Down at Christmas (Sowerby), Chor der Engel from Christus am Oelberge (Beethoven), as well as Once in Royal David’s City and other familiar hymns of the season.

There will also be two special Candlelight Carol tour services at Belle Meade United Methodist Church in Nashville, Tenn., on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. and at Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, Ark. on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. No reservations are required for tour services.
