CONWAY, Ark. (April 6, 2009) – The Hendrix College Choir will present a concert titled “Hallelujah!” on Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Greene Chapel on the Hendrix College campus. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information call (501) 450-1248.
The choir, directed by Dr. Nancy Fleming, will perform the following selections:
- All That Hath Life and Breath, Praise Ye the Lord! By René Clausen
- Sicut cervus by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina
- Lobet den Herrn by Johann Sebastian Bach
- The Heavens Are Telling by Franz Joseph Haydn
- Rejoice in the Lamb by Benjamin Britten
- O Clap Your Hands by Ralph Vaughan Williams
The choir will be accompanied by Hendrix adjunct professors of music, Ansley Fleming, organ, and Dan Cline, cello. Fleming will also perform an organ solo, Alleluyas by Simon Preston.
Student soloists include Lira Mondal of Russellville, Lauren Shelby Douglas of Edgemont, John Casey and Conner McMains of Little Rock, Martha Gary of Jackson, Mo., Nathan Jeffries of Windsor, Mo., Melissa Garrard of Vestavia, Ala., and Matthew Tillett of Coral Gables, Fla.
