An Evening in the Park

CONWAY, Ark. (April 6, 2009) – The Hendrix College Wind Ensemble will present “An Evening in the Park” at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 13 on the grounds outside Staples Auditorium on the Hendrix College campus. Admission is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic and lawn chairs or a blanket. In the event of rain, the concert will be held inside Staples Auditorium.  For more information call 450-1422.

Featured will be trombone soloist Tim Pote, a Hendrix senior music and physics double major, on Annie Laurie by Arthur Pryor. Also on the program will be Sound Off by John Philip Sousa, Shenandoah by Frank Ticheli, Suite of Old American Dances by Robert Russell Bennett, On the Mall by Edwin Franko Goldman, a medley from The Sound of Music by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein arranged by Robert Russell Bennett, and The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa.

The Hendrix College Wind Ensemble is conducted by Dr. Karen Fannin, assistant professor of music.
