CONWAY, Ark. – (April 1, 2009) The Hendrix College chapter of Psi Chi held its annual initiation ceremony and elected 19 students to the society on April 19.
Psi Chi is the national honor society of psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate students who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests and who meet high academic qualifications.
The 19 new members include: Kendra Anderson, Abigail Blaney, Samantha Bridges, Ashley Cappiello, Claire Corban, Liz Fasterling, Gina Gordon, Laura Hamby, Dietlinde Heilmayr, Wesley Hewett, Emily M Lenard, Chance McDermott, Eileen Quinn, Brittney Reynolds, Philip Spann, Victoria Todd, Dane Whicker, Hannah Wilkin, and Alex Woody.
Hendrix, founded in 1876, is a selective, residential, undergraduate liberal arts college emphasizing experiential learning in a demanding yet supportive environment.
