The Village, CEO Profiled

CONWAY, Ark. (Sept. 15, 2008) – Hendrix College Vice President and General Counsel J. Scott Schallhorn was featured in a newspaper series called "Front and Center," a product of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette’s River Valley and Ozarks edition.  The story appeared in the newspaper’s Sept. 14 edition.

The article highlighted Schallhorn’s position as chief executive officer of The Village at Hendrix, a mixed-use walkable community being constructed just north of the college’s athletics facilities along Harkrider in Conway. The first phase of The Village is expected to open next summer.

Hendrix, founded in 1876, is a selective, residential, undergraduate liberal arts college emphasizing experiential learning in a demanding yet supportive environment. The college is among 165 colleges featured in the 2008 edition of the Princeton Review America’s Best Value Colleges. Hendrix has been affiliated with the United Methodist Church since 1884.
