Giving Challenges

Leadership Giving Challenges Met!

Recent challenges to inspire leadership-level gifts for the Hendrix Annual  Fund and the Hendrix Parent Fund were issued this spring.  Through generous donations from parents, alumni, and friends, both challenges were easily met!

The Worsham Leadership Giving Challenge, sponosored by Dr. Gordon Worsham of Dallas, Texas, provided $30,000 for 30 new $1,000 gifts.   Tim and Jeannine Lomax, former parents of College Station, Texas, issued the Lomax-Hoffman Challenge for the Hendrix Parent Fund, which provided $10,000 for 10 new $1,000 gifts.  Through these generous challenges, the sponsors and the donors provided an impact of $80,000 to the Hendrix Annual Fund for this fiscal year!

Ellis Arnold Leadership Challenge

The Arnold Leadership Challenge has been established by the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees to honor Ellis Arnold ’79 for his service as Acting President for the past 15 months and for the leadership he has provided to his alma mater during a critical time in the life of the College.

The Details

The Advancement Committee will match 15 new gifts of $1,000 for a total challenge match of $15,000.  Their committed dollars, along with the new gifts received, will contribute $30,000 to the Hendrix Annual Fund this fiscal year.  Gifts must be received by May 31 to qualify.  The challenge will match gifts from first-time donors or from donors who did not give $1,000 during the 2012-2013 fiscal year.

While the Arnold Challenge is designed to receive leadership-level gifts, the challenge sponsors also encourage donors to make gifts of any amount in honor of Ellis.

Please note that your gift is for the “Arnold Challenge” as you make your gift (in the Tribute section for online giving or on your check memo), or please indicate that your gift is in honor of Ellis.
