Connecting your Windows PC from your dormroom   
  • Right click on Network Neighborhood and click Map Network Drive or in Windows Explorer go to Tools->Map Network Drive
  • Select Z: in the Drive box.
  • Type \\hnxdc03\students\stuX\yourusername in the Path box where 'X' is the first letter of your last name. If you do not log on to your own computer using your Hendrix username and password, select "Connect using different username" and enter your Hendrix username and password and press OK.
  • Click the Reconnect at Logon box.
  • Click OK.
  • Double click on the My Computer icon.
  • There should be a new drive labeled \\hnxdc03\students\stux\yourusername on Hnxdc03 (Z:).
  • Double click on the Z: icon, then you can see your documents folder.
  • You can also browse the Network Neighborhood then select hnxdc04 which has files Shared under Classes.
          
Connecting your Macintosh from your dormroom

OS X 10-10.4
   

  • Click go the connect to and type AFP:/at/HNXDC03:*  to connect and logon as below.
  • Click On HNXDC03 for personal student files
  • Select Registered User , then Type your UserID in the Name box
  • Click password the box and type your password
  • Select the Volume for STUDENTS.
  • Then click on the students shortcut folder on the desktop and select folder that contains your folder.
  • Example:User doejm would select StuD which has a doejm folder in it.
  • Your folder is named the same as your UserID under the stux folders where x is the 1st letter of your last name.
  • Follow the same steps to get to the Faculty provided class files on HNXDC04.

OS 8&9

  • Network files may be accessed through the Chooser on the apple menu in the upper left side of the Desktop (Fig 1).

Connecting your Windows PC from Bailey, or Mills

Your network space is automatically mapped to your Z: drive when you login. To access it, open Windows Explorer or My Computer and go to the Z: drive.

Connecting your Mac from Bailey, or Mills

Your Z: drive should appear on the desktop when you log in.
