The Walker Odyssey Challenge

Over the past two years, the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation has awarded $300,000 in grants to Your Hendrix Odyssey: Engaging in Active Learning. With support from the Walker Foundation, Hendrix has now established the Walker Odyssey Scholars Program, under the Your Hendrix Odyssey program.  To date, the Walker Odyssey Scholars Program has empowered hundreds of talented students from Arkansas and across the country to undertake ambitious engaged learning experiences.

The Walker Odyssey Challenge is a 1:2 challenge grant, with matching funds from the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation available up to $2,000,000. For example, a $100,000 gift in response to the Walker Odyssey Challenge will be matched by $50,000 from the Walker Foundation. The Walker Odyssey Challenge is not restricted to gifts to a specific Odyssey project category; and pledges may be paid over a five year period. Odyssey Endowments created in response to the Walker Challenge will bear the names of individuals or families that establish the endowments. The endowments will be supplemented with matching funds provided the Walker Foundation.
