Will my gift really matter?

Yes! Your gift to the Alumni Loyalty Fund shows a vote of confidence for the Hendrix experience, past and present!  The Annual Fund provides the resources to ensure that we can honor the leadership commitment we have made to ourselves, our students and the nation.  Furthermore, alumni participation rates are reviewed by corporations and foundations when we apply for grants, and they are reviewed when Hendrix College is evaluated for national rankings. 

How will my gift be used?

Money donated to Hendrix through the Alumni Loyalty Fund is unrestricted money, which means it supports Hendrix in numerous ways: financial aid and scholarships, academic technology, resources for faculty and classrooms, student activities and recruitment, and much more. Gifts to the Alumni Loyalty Fund are a vote of confidence for Hendrix and help cover the expenses of the institution, which are not fully met through student tuition.

Is it important to maintain my annual gift if I make a major gift?

Absolutely! Hendrix is grateful for alumni and supporters who endow scholarships or support building projects. But it is just as important to maintain annual gifts, which meet the needs of the college now.

Can I give a gift in honor or in memory of a loved one?

Yes! Each donor wishing to make a memorial or honorary gift just needs to inform Hendrix when they make their gift. Notifications of such gifts will be sent to whomever the donor requests.

Why do I feel like Hendrix contacts me all year about the Alumni Loyalty Fund?

Hendrix College has very targeted efforts for reaching its alumni about making a gift. Only a small number of pieces will be mailed to you, and you will probably be called during the student Phone-a-thon. If you make a pledge to Hendrix, we will send you reminders about your pledge. Once a gift is made to Hendrix, you will not be contacted until the next fiscal year.  Also, donors who make their annual gifts before the Phone-a-thon will not be called. The fiscal year runs from June 1-May 31.

Are certain levels of giving encouraged?

All gifts are encouraged, no matter the level. However, Hendrix uses Giving Societies to organize our monetary gifts. When publicity is prepared for the Alumni Loyalty Fund, your name will be listed under the appropriate giving level. Hendrix also honors the requests of persons who wish to remain anonymous.

Can I make a multi-year pledge?

Certainly! Hendrix will remind you annually about your pledge. These types of pledges are highly encouraged because the college saves the resources needed to ask you for a gift each year.

How do I make a gift to Hendrix or fulfill my pledge made during Phone-a-thon?

There are several ways to make your gift. Gifts are accepted via cash, personal check, credit card, transfer of stocks or bonds, transfer of property, automatic bank draft or our new convenient online giving mechanism.
