Ask yourself questions about your goals and what you want to do with your life.
- Start a career file that includes names of contacts and records of your activities for the next four years.
- Find your niche: take interest and career inventory tests through Career Services.
- Identify at least four skills employers want and plan how you will acquire these skills before graduation.
- Visit and familiarize yourself with the Career Services Library and the Hendrix Career Services Web site.
- Draft your first résumé.
- Attend the on-campus career and grad school fairs (CareerFest'10 and theEXPO2009) to gather information on potential employers, careers and graduate schools.
- Talk to faculty, alumni, advisors and career counselors about possible majors and careers.
- Join student organizations that will offer leadership roles for youin the future.
- Collect information on internships and summer jobs.
- Consider volunteering to help build your résumé.
